Nutrition and Physical Activity

Qatar has the highest prevalence of overweight people and obesity in the GCC region—considerably higher than most OECD countries. To address these fundamental health issues today and in the future, the project has set multiple outcomes. These include setting up a comprehensive nutrition and physical activity scheme with targeted stakeholder initiatives to positively impact on the rate of obesity and raise public awareness of the benefits of nutrition and physical activity.

As the National Health Strategy Program 2011-2016 draws to a close, project information is currently being updated and will be available in the coming weeks.

For enquiries please contact the Program Management Office at the Ministry of Public Health.
