Budgeting Process for Public Health Sector Spending

In Qatar, public expenditures for healthcare provision have increased over the past five years. This increase in healthcare costs is due to a large infrastructure, technology and work force build-up. Public sector health care organizations such as the MoPH, PHCC and HMC are working together to develop an enhanced and integrated budgeting system. This will mean better alignment of budgeting processes and improved monitoring and control of healthcare expenditure to ensure budgets are spent in the right place at the right time on the right areas.

As the National Health Strategy Program 2011-2016 draws to a close, project information is currently being updated and will be available in the coming weeks.
